During the Xia Dynasty of the Chinese nation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, Emperor Kong Jia of Xia got two dragons, male and female. He heard that Liu Lei had learned how to raise dragons from the "Huanlong clan", so he ordered Liu Lei to raise dragons. Because Liu Lei had made great achievements in raising dragons, Kong Jia gave him "Dragon Control". Later, when a dragon died, Liu Lei made meat soup and presented it to Emperor Kong Jia. Kong Jia ordered Liu Lei to offer it again because of its delicious taste. Liu Lei was afraid that the death of the dragon would be exposed, so he moved to Songshan Mountain in Zhongyue. At the eastern foot of Yao Mountain (Dalong Mountain, also known as Shiren Mountain) on the south side, in the Zhaoping Lake area of ??Lushan County, Henan (today's Lushan, Henan), people cultivated wasteland, fished and hunted here, and were finally buried here. Liu Lei's descendants later named him Liu. As a surname, it became the earliest origin of the surname Liu in my country.
"Historical Records Zhengyi" quoted "Kuo Di Zhi" as saying: "Liu Lei's old city is fifty-five miles south of Fengshi County, Luozhou, and it is Liu Lei's hometown." Ancient Fengshi County now belongs to Yanshi County, Luoyang, Henan.
There is a place named Liuju in the southwest of his jurisdiction. It is said that this is where he lived when he raised dragons.
Later, due to the death of a female dragon, Lei processed the dragon meat into delicacies and gave it to Kong Jia. After Kong Jia enjoyed it, he found it delicious and asked Liu Lei for food. Liu Lei was afraid that the death of the dragon would happen, so Kong Jia investigated the crime.
In about 1873 BC, Liu Lei moved to the east foot of Yaoshan (Dalong Mountain) and lived in seclusion in Lushan County, Henan Province today. He hid his original name and changed his name to "Qiu".
The place is "Qiu Gongcheng".
After Kong Jia knew about it, he stopped pursuing it. Qiu Gong changed his name to Liu Lei, and the Liu Lei clan changed their surname to Liu, and the Chinese surname Liu became Liu Lei.
As early as before the Ming Dynasty, descendants named Gengji Town (called Zhuyuzhai in ancient times) near Qiugong City "the hometown of Huanlong", and inscribed "Huanlong's hometown" on the forehead of the Xizhai gate.
Liu Lei finally died in Qiugongcheng, Lushan County, Henan Province today, and was buried 30 meters northeast of Qiugongcheng.
In the 1950s, Zhaoping Lake was built, and Liu Lei's tomb disappeared in Zhaoping Lake.
