Starting from July 17, the railway department launched an Internet meal ordering service for EMU trains at 27 major high-speed rail passenger stations located in provincial capitals and cities under separate planning to provide passengers with more varieties and tastes of meal services.
Among the first batch of stations where food can be ordered, there are currently no stations in Beijing.
From next Monday, passengers traveling on EMU trains prefixed with G and D can order meals through the 12306 website, mobile APP, etc. They can order meals provided by the dining car of the train they are traveling on, or meals provided by meal stations along the way.
Socially branded meals.
After the meal ordering service is launched, passengers can choose the meal ordering service from these first 27 stations.
The ordered food will be prepared and delivered to the train when it passes the station.
Passengers can choose to pick up their meals in the dining car, and railway station train service staff can also deliver the meals to the carriages and seats designated by the passengers who ordered the meals.
For example, Tianjin West Railway Station currently has a food ordering service. As long as the train departs from or passes through this station, passengers can book the food delivery service at this station.
According to reports, the launch of Internet ordering services for EMU trains is another new service initiative launched by China Railway Corporation to deepen the structural reform of the supply side of railway transportation services.
In response to the diversified and personalized travel service needs of passengers, the railway department has introduced social brand meals and given full play to the advantages of "Internet +", which can further enrich the variety structure of EMU catering and provide passengers with more choices and better services.
Currently, due to passenger flow and other reasons, this service has not been launched at all stations in Beijing.
