Brief introduction of Xiao Putuo
In Erhai Lake, Xiaoputuo Island can be said to be a "pocket island". The circumference of Putuo is only more than 200 meters, all made of limestone. It is shaped like a round seal, so it is also called Hai Yin. Legend has it that there are many dragons in Erhai Lake, which often set off violent storms. This reef is the seal that Guanyin Bodhisattva used to catch the dragon. Probably during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, fishermen nearby built a two-story pavilion on the island, which enshrined the statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, so the people called it Guanyin Pavilion. The best time to visit Xiao Putuo is early morning. At this time, the fog curled up on the sea, and the little Putuo was like a moon palace. When I boarded the small Putuo, I saw the fog surging around me, like a white gauze. This is the "Ailan Putuo", one of the eight scenic spots in Erhai Lake.
Although small, Xiaoputuo Island is famous, and it is indispensable in the picture books introducing Dali. Looking at Cangshan Erhai Lake on the small Putuo, it seems that you are in a silver plate held up by a white-headed old man, and your mind is particularly open. Xiaoputuo Island is a scenic spot in Erhai Lake, and Xiaoputuo Island is also a place with rich Buddhist culture.
