What’s delicious in Nanyang?

As an out-and-out Nanyang native, no matter where I go or how many years I have been away from my hometown, I think I will never forget the special delicacies of our Nanyang.

I grew up eating those delicious foods, so whenever I think of the delicacies I eat at home, my saliva flows unknowingly from the corners of my mouth for a long time.

? I think most friends from out of town will think that this place is so run-down when they first arrive in Nanyang. Just hearing the name makes them think that it is very rustic! There will definitely not be any unique and delicious food here.

But this is not the case. If you cannot eat one or two not-so-delicious things from this place, it would be fair to say that this place does not have special food.

So, below I would like to briefly introduce to you some of our Nanyang special delicacies and snacks, so that everyone can have a new understanding of Nanyang. If you come here another day, you can try these delicacies I mentioned in person. I guarantee that you will enjoy them.

Eat it once and you’ll never forget it!

The first Nanyang feature I mentioned is Dengzhou’s Wozi Noodles.

Dengzhou Wozi Noodles are improved from Wuhan Hot Dry Noodles, and their taste is more in line with the tastes of most northerners.

Round noodles are made from special noodles through a special process. They are steamed and then cooled. When making wozi noodles, take a bowl of noodles and a little bean sprouts or lettuce and put them into a funnel-shaped bamboo bucket, and put in the pre-boiled noodles.

After heating in boiling water for about a minute, take it out and drain the water.

Then put it into a bowl, add sesame paste, various special seasonings, and stir evenly with chopsticks before eating.

Wozi noodles are simple to make and delicious. Most importantly, they are not expensive. It is a special delicacy that we Nanyang people rarely eat every day.

The second one is Nanyang Xinye’s beef soup.

The unique climate and environment of the Nanyang Basin is particularly suitable for the reproduction of Nanyang cattle. In particular, the body fat rate of Nanyang cattle is very low. The soup made from this kind of beef is particularly fragrant and not greasy at all.

Adding various local Chinese herbal medicines and drinking a bowl of this beef soup every day can not only warm the stomach, but also prolong life.

Paired with shredded pancakes, it’s a nutritious breakfast that will leave you with endless aftertaste throughout the day!

The third one is Liu Ji’s rice wine.

In our country, apart from Shaoxing rice wine in Zhejiang, the rice wine from Liuji in Nanyang belongs to us.

According to research, it has a production history of seven to eight hundred years, so that every local household has mastered the technology of producing rice wine.

Most of the raw materials for making rice wine are locally produced sorghum and wheat, which are fermented and brewed through dozens of secret processes.

Taking a sip of rice wine has a particularly sweet and mellow feeling, and no matter how much you drink it, you won't get drunk. It gives people a kind of artistic conception that when you meet your best friend, a thousand cups will be too little.

Local people will keep several jars of Liuji rice wine at home, so that they can drink it themselves or serve it to entertain guests when they have guests at home.

After one sip of Liuji Rice Wine, all the boredom was gone, two sips made me feel happy, and three sips made me feel ecstatic.

It is definitely a Nanyang specialty that you must try.

The fourth one is steamed vegetables from Nanyang Zhenping.

There are many types of Nanyang steamed vegetables, and any common local vegetables can be made.

The production process is simple and easy to learn, but it is full of color, flavor and flavor. It is a unique dish in Nanyang and even Henan.

If outsiders come to our Nanyang and don’t eat steamed vegetables, it will be like going to Lanzhou and not eating ramen, going to Nanjing and not eating salted duck, and going to Xi’an and not eating steamed buns, they will leave behind regrets.

I think the most delicious Nanyang steamed vegetables are wild steamed vegetables, such as wild amaranth, shepherd's purse, wild wormwood, pearl leaf vegetables, etc.

In the past, only ordinary people in rural areas could make these steamed vegetables for consumption.

However, as people in the city pay more attention to the original ecology of food ingredients, in recent years, people who have walked into major hotels in Nanyang city have become well-known and loved, and it has naturally become a specialty food in Nanyang, attracting many outsiders.

I came to Nanyang inexplicably just for a feast.
