There was a craftsman (jiàng) who made beautiful toys every day and sold them in his shop.

But business was not very good, and the three children, the craftsman, and his wife never had enough to eat.

One winter was particularly cold and the shops had no business. They had no money to buy food.

"Oh my God!" cried the craftsman's wife, looking at the cupboard, "there is only enough food for one person. What should we do?" "Don't worry," said the craftsman, "something good will happen."

That night the children ate the last of their food and then hid in the toy store to play, forgetting all about hunger and cold.

The craftsman returned to his workshop and worked all night.

The next morning, the children and their mother were awakened from bed by the smell of delicious food.

They found the dining table piled high with food.

The craftsman smiled and said, "Come, sit down and eat." The three children devoured the eggs, meat and vegetables piled high on the plate.

"Where do these delicacies come from?" asked my wife, her mouth full of delicacies.

The craftsman said: "I was working in the workshop last night, and I thought of making toys that look like food, so that we can at least pretend to have something to eat. So, I used wood and paint (qī) to make loaves of bread... This is what you will see in the morning.

"But it's not wood," the wife said, picking up a piece of bread and putting it in her mouth. "It's true," the craftsman said, "but it's not over yet."

I worked all night and was very tired, so I fell asleep and had a strange dream. In my dream, a young man appeared. The young man said that he came on behalf of the "Toy Elf" and knew that we met.

Difficulties, ready to help us. He said that if we treat the toys with all our heart, they will also take care of us and we will not be hungry anymore. Then I woke up and found that the toys and food on the table were steaming."

This is a real miracle, we will never go hungry again." A few weeks later, customers who came to the store were surprised to find two large dolls and three small dolls that looked like the craftsman and him!
