Homemade hawthorn strips
Ingredients: 800g pitted hawthorn, 280g white sugar
Method:
01 Soak the hawthorn in salt water for 20 minutes Then rinse it with water several times
02 Use a special core removal tool to remove the core of the washed hawthorn
03 Take 200 grams of cored hawthorn and add 70 grams of white sugar. For sugar, beat it with a mixer for 10 seconds
04 Beat it into fine powder
05 Take out the hawthorn and sugar mixture and put it in a container that can be put into the microwave oven, and let it sit for a while After a while, let the sugar and hawthorn pieces blend better. This time I used 800 grams of hawthorn (after removing the core), beat it four times, and put it into two containers
06 Microwave oven Cook on high heat for 5 minutes
07 Take it out after 5 minutes and stir evenly with a spatula. Turn the bottom to the top to make the whole thing uniform
08 Repeat the above operation for a while** *4 times of 5 minutes each time, ***20 minutes in total. The power of each microwave oven is different. You can adjust it according to your own microwave oven. In the end, it will be dry and thick with almost no moisture.< /p>
09 Put the prepared jam into a non-stick baking pan, scrape it flat with a scraper and press it firmly. The thickness should not be too thick, about 1 cm. Place the container in a sunny place. Let it dry in a special place for 2-3 days to make it dry
10 If you don’t have a baking tray, you can also use other flat containers. It’s best to put oiled paper underneath to prevent sticking
11 Let it dry Take out the hawthorn sauce and cut it into long strips with a knife. The roller knife is very easy to use. You can try it
12. A sharp knife is also easy to cut and cut into long strips of about 4cm
13 Dry the cut hawthorn strips in a fruit dryer, or dry them in the sun for 1-2 days!
