Shangzhi Street: A legacy of heroes with lofty ideals. Shangzhi Street was originally called Xincheng Street. It was formed in 1900 and has a total length of 1.7 kilometers.
On this street, there were some organs of the underground party organization of the Communist Party of China. For example, the Northeast Morning Post, the first newspaper founded by our party in August 1925, was at the intersection of Shangzhi Street and West 14th Street.
Zhao Shangzhi, formerly known as Zhao Zihe, was born in Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province on October 25, 1908. He moved to Harbin with his family in 1919, entered Guangzhou Huangpu Military Academy in 1925, and returned to Harbin the following year.
After the September 18th Incident, Zhao Shangzhi served as Secretary of the Military Commission of the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the person in charge of the Anti-Japanese Association.
In May 1932, he was sent to the anti-Japanese guerrilla zone and served successively as chief of staff of the Bayan guerrillas, commander of the Third Army of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army, and commander-in-chief of the Northeast People's Anti-Japanese Allied Forces.
Zhao Shangzhi has many connections with Xincheng Street (now Shangzhi Street).
In early 1933, Zhao Shangzhi returned from Bayan.
When he went to the Dime Hotel (at the corner of Shangzhi Street and Xisidao Street, which is the underground organization of our party) to meet with Jin Boyang, he was discovered and arrested by Japanese agents. He was tortured, but he insisted that he was
The enemy had no choice but to let the beggar go.
In early February 1942, Zhao Shangzhi believed the false information provided by "Zhang Yuqing" that the Wutonghe police force was empty.
Late at night on February 12, when Zhao Shangzhi led his troops to sneak into the Wutong River, they were ambushed.
After a fierce battle, Zhao Shangzhi died with hatred at dawn the next day at the age of 34.
It is reported that Zhao Shangzhi's head was cut off and sent to Changchun, and his body was sunk into the Songhua River.
Because the Japanese plane landed for refueling on the way to Changchun, when the plane landed at Changchun Dafangshen Airport, the former Xingshan police special agent chief Masao Tojo found that Zhao Shangzhi's frozen head had begun to thaw.
After Zhao died, his eyes widened with anger. After his head was cut off, his eyes were still glaring.
However, after flying to Changchun, my eyes have been closed.
After being sent to the Puppet Manchukuo Military and Administrative Department, due to the higher indoor temperature, Zhao Shangzhi's head, which had not been embalmed, was already oozing with blood.
Three days later, when Yu Zhishan, the puppet Manchukuo military and political minister, and a group of Japanese officers personally inspected Zhao Shangzhi's head, they found that the head had already emitted the smell of deterioration, and it was impossible to preserve it.
After consulting the Kwantung Army Headquarters, it was decided to burn Zhao's head to eliminate traces.
Just as they were preparing to burn it, a monk arrived in time.
He was the abbot of Prajna Temple in Changchun City, and he was highly respected in the new capital of Manchuria.
Since the commander-in-chief of the Japanese Kwantung Army at the time believed in Buddhism and visited the Prajna Temple many times, when he heard that the head of Zhao Shangzhi, who died for the Anti-Japanese War, was going to be burned, he personally came forward to request that Zhao Shangzhi’s head be burned.
This head is buried in Prajna Temple.
The supreme commander of the Kwantung Army actually made an exception and granted his request.
Was the head of martyr Zhao Shangzhi buried immediately after it was transported to Prajna Temple, or was it enshrined and hidden by this eminent monk who sympathized with the anti-Japanese comrades?
No one knows what happened next.
On July 7, 1946, 200,000 people from all walks of life in Songjiang Province and Harbin held a meeting to commemorate the 9th anniversary of the "July 7" Anti-Japanese War and celebrate the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. Feng Zhongyun, Chairman of Songjiang Province, suggested that Xincheng Street be renamed Shangzhi Street to commemorate
National hero Zhao Shangzhi.
However, the hero's head remains a mystery.
On May 31, 2004, Jiang Baocai, who was organizing the filming of the large-scale documentary film "Northeast Resistance Alliance", accidentally heard the news: During the internal construction of Prajna Temple in Changchun City, an unknown skull was discovered.
"Could this be Zhao Shangzhi's head?" Jiang Baocai's heart moved.
I immediately rushed to Prajna Temple with my friends for inspection.
On June 18, Jiang Baocai and others invited a number of experts to conduct a scientific appraisal of the head.
The identification results are basically consistent with historical records.
At the same time, the computer reconstruction image formed based on the analysis of the skull shape was also obtained by Zhao Shangzhi's sister Zhao Shangwen, Zhao Shangzhi's old subordinate Chen Lei (former governor of Heilongjiang Province) and his wife Li Min (former vice chairman of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), etc.
recognition.
The head of the anti-Japanese hero who had been missing for 62 years was finally found.
