"Nine Gui" is the general name for the feast popular in Guangdong Province, especially in the Pearl River Delta.
Gui" (pronounced as "ghost") originally refers to a vessel for placing food in ancient times. Its shape may be square or round, and it can be made of wood, bamboo, pottery or copper. . It was originally a food or sacrificial vessel for the nobles at that time. Later, it gradually spread to the people, so there is a saying among the people in Guangdong that the nine traditional Gui dishes have these nine dishes:
