Last year, I was lucky enough to go to Wuzhen, Jiaxing. I spent a day and a night there. Before I went, my dad asked me to check some guides. I also made some preparations. I still have some useful things in my memory. I hope I can share them with you.
Just give it a try.
Let’s talk about time and accommodation first. That time we arrived outside the Xizha Gate of Wuzhen at 7pm. We were ready to stay for a day before departure, so I first looked at hotels near the scenic spots online. My dad said
When it comes to booking places, I always insist on booking early. After all, it is a holiday and there are many tourists. But we are lucky. There is a chain hotel called "Jinjiang Star" that has many rooms, and they also have a buffet breakfast. I think
Very convenient.
Then we entered the Xizha Scenic Area at night. After all, Xizha is famous for its night view, but my mother said there was nothing interesting to see at night, so she didn’t come with us. My brother and I went to see the night view.
The rest of my impression is not too deep, except that the boat ride at night was quite interesting, and there are many stone bridges in the scenic area. I don’t know the specific age, but standing on the stone bridge, looking at the gurgling water under my feet, the reflection in the river
Under the dim lights on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, I unconsciously felt a touch of tenderness in my heart, feeling that the night was not in vain.
Another attraction in Xizha Scenic Area is Mao Dun Memorial Hall, but because it was too late at that time, it was already closed when we went there, which was a small regret.
There is also a theater that I didn’t go into, but it looked spectacular from the outside.
In addition, there is a large courtyard in Xizha, which seems to be the garden of a certain number one scholar. It is very quiet inside at night and the lights are very beautiful.
We returned to the hotel after ten o'clock, and took the scenic shuttle bus to Dongzha the next day, where we had a good appreciation of the style of the ancient architecture.
Moreover, the cultural heritage of Dongzha is also stronger. We visited a wine-making workshop, a cloth-dying workshop, a sauce-making place, and the Hundred-Bed Pavilion, which contained many wood-carved beds, all of which were very large.
There are also venues for wood carving exhibitions, and the one that surprised me the most was the Mu Xin Memorial Hall.
This place must be highly recommended. There are many authentic works of Mu Xin, as well as many articles, calligraphy and paintings. I really got a feel for Mr. Mu Xin’s style there.
There are indeed too many people in the scenic area during the day, so crowded that there is no gap, and the alleys inside are very narrow and difficult to walk.
There are also some B&Bs in the scenic area, most of which are converted from previous buildings. They have a strong antique flavor. If you like, you can stay in the scenic area, but the price is probably not cheap.
If you want to talk about your favorite thing in Wuzhen, you would still choose the water in Wuzhen. It is really well protected, and basically the river runs through the scenic spots. It is a veritable water town. There are many places to take pictures. The night view of Xizha is really amazing.
The advantage of Dongzha is that there are many places to visit.
The above is my sharing and suggestions. I hope it will be helpful for you to visit Wuzhen.
