Hengyang County is located in the northwest of Hengyang City, Hunan Province, in the middle reaches of Xiangjiang River. Hengyang County is about 10 km away from Hengyang City. Named after its location at the southern foot of Hengshan Mountain in Nanyue, it covers a total area of 2,558 square kilometers and governs 25 townships.

Hengyang county is rich in products, known as "the land of abundance", famous for its nonferrous metals, and known as "the hometown of nonferrous metals" and "the hometown of nonmetals". Hengyang county is an important commodity grain production base in southern China, and it is also an important production area for offering sacrifices to pigs and other agricultural and sideline products.

Hengyang County is located in the transitional zone between the rise of Wuling Mountain and the settlement of Dongting Lake, that is, the northern edge of Hengyang Basin. Tertiary red rocks are deposited in the center of the basin, with a thickness of about 3000 meters. A series of dome belts in the east, north and west are all centered on the red basin in the south-central part, surrounded by Wu, and have different tectonic postures.

Hunan Wanyuan Lake Tourism and Leisure Resort is located in jiepai town and Shishi Township, Hengyang County. It is located at the southern foot of Hengshan Mountain, a unique mountain in Wuyue, and on the west side of Gouloufeng National Ecological Park. The Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway double-track runs through the west side of the scenic spot, and there are interchange entrances and exits at the main entrance of the scenic spot 2 kilometers away, so the traffic is very convenient. Wanyuan Lake Tourist Resort, Nanyue Scenic Area and Gouloufeng National Ecological Park are all within 20 kilometers, relying on each other to form a tourist golden triangle with Nanyue as the core.

On Dazhou Island, ancient trees are towering, trees are shaded, and patches of reeds and bamboo forests often gather hundreds of birds. The flowers are in full bloom at four o'clock, which is refreshing. The swaying bamboo shadows and the thousand birds are a true portrayal of the beautiful scenery on the island. Walking along the tree-lined path after tea is really interesting.
