:) This is the 35th assignment that Xingxing planned to complete in <100 Days of Writing with Sister Xiaosha>. On Monday, I went to Taiping Street with Baojing. I remembered that she said she wanted to buy some specialties, so I suggested to her that she could buy some here.
, you can also send it back.
So we started our journey of searching for specialties in Taiping Street.
In fact, there are quite a lot of specialty shops on Taiping Street. We went straight to the topic from the moment we entered that street and went to the specialty shops to recommend Hunan specialties to her.
While shopping along the way, I took some photos of some of my favorite Hunan specialties, and I’d like to share them with you:) 01 — Perilla, Yangmei and Ginger This is definitely our Hunan specialty, made from perilla, bayberry and ginger.
A snack, sometimes a special delicacy made at home.
I personally like to eat it, so I recommended Baojing to try it, and she later bought it and sent it home.
Not only perilla bayberry and ginger, but also cooked ginger made from ginger.
I once asked my friends from all over the world if they had eaten cooked ginger, and they all said no. I took it to school to try it, and they all thought it was quite spicy and were not used to it.
Indeed, ginger itself is relatively spicy, and the same is true after it is made into cooked ginger.
02 — Chopped chili peppers We all know that Hunan people love spicy food, and chopped chili peppers are basically a must-have for every household.
Almost all Hunan specialty shops on Taiping Street have bright red chopped chili peppers, which can be said to be an excellent companion for cooking, rice, and noodles.
The Hunan specialty dish steamed fish head with chopped peppers is indispensable.
At home, we cannot do without the company of chopped chili peppers when cooking, eating, or eating noodles.
03 - Wild jujubes Wild jujubes are also a major feature of Hunan. I have brought them to my friends, but they all said they had never tasted them before and they tasted good.
When I arrived at Taiping Street, I found that there are various flavors, including original, sesame, and spicy, and they all taste pretty good.
Bao Jing doesn't like spicy food at home, so she bought the original flavor and sent it home.
I hope their family will also like it:) 04 - Pig blood meatballs When Bao Jing saw the black stuff for the first time, she was surprised and thought, what is this?
I replied that these are pig blood meatballs, which can also be regarded as a wax product and are a specialty of Shaoyang, Hunan.
My grandma can make it, but I haven’t liked it since I was a kid.
Bao Jing and I tried the sample product in the store. She said it tasted pretty good and decided to buy it.
05 — Chili Peanuts The first time I ate it was when I was an undergraduate student. Pikachu brought it back to us when he went to Changsha to play.
Later I saw it when I went to Chongqing, and this time I saw and tasted it on Taiping Street.
Somehow, I always feel that it is not as delicious as Pikachu brings us, maybe the taste that exists in memory is better.
06 — Papaya strips Papaya strips are shredded papayas. We have tried papaya strips from several stores, but we still think the ones from Thirteenth Village are the most delicious.
It's crispy, fragrant and spicy. It's very suitable for eating. Baojing likes it very much:) I also like it very much, so I bought a bottle and took it home to eat. It's also good as a snack.
Baojing sent home a large box of specialties, which was considered a successful completion of the task.
