In the 45th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1706), Shi Shiqi, the magistrate of Lianzhou, donated money to expand Haitian Academy. Because there is a legend of Hepu, Zhu Huan in The History of the Later Han Dynasty, it was renamed Zhu Huan Academy, which means that the sages migrated and returned.
In the 18th year of Qing Qianlong (1753), Zhou Shuoxun, the magistrate of Lianzhou, rebuilt Zhu Huan Academy. Because in the Tang and Song Dynasties, Lianzhou was once called Haimen Town, so it was renamed Haimen Academy.
