The origin of the name of Slender West Lake: The earliest written record of Slender West Lake was in the "Preface to Yangzhou Advocacy Words". It was also called "Slender West Lake" because the waterway here is long and winding and it is located in the northwest of Yangzhou City. The next written record was during the Qianlong period.
Wang Hang, after traveling and comparing it with the West Lake in Hangzhou, wrote a poem: "The weeping poplars are constantly picking up the remaining weeds, and the wild goose-toothed rainbow bridge is like a painting. It is also a pot of gold, so it should be called Slender West Lake." Wuting Bridge is the symbol of Slender West Lake.
The logo has a history of more than 200 years.
There are five wind pavilions built on the bridge. Every full moon night, each of the fifteen bridge holes under the Wuting Bridge contains a moon.
The Twenty-Four Bridge is another famous attraction in the scenic area. It comes from Du Mu's poem "The Twenty-Four Bridge on a moonlit night, where can the beautiful lady teach how to play the flute". The original bridge no longer exists, and now it is a rebuilt bridge.
