Pour the glutinous rice flour into a bowl. In another small bowl, add sugar and boiling water. When the sugar melts, pour into the glutinous rice flour and stir evenly with chopsticks.
Then rub it with your hands for five or six minutes. As shown in the picture, leave it for ten minutes.
Make glutinous rice with sugar and make a dough, roll it into small balls and roll on white sesame seeds.
Put in cold oil and fry over medium-low heat, move slowly with a shovel, wait until the sesame balls float a little and use a slotted spoon to gently press them. This will slowly enlarge them, and fry until golden brown.
Ma Yuan, also known as Ma Tuan, is a Han nationality specialty snack and a type of Chinese fried pasta. There are many names for sesame balls, such as sesame balls in North China, sesame balls in northeastern China, treasure bags in Hainan, and youdui in Guangxi. They are a common New Year food in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Sesame balls are made by kneading glutinous rice flour with sugar, lard and water, and then frying them in a pan. They are named because they are round in shape and coated with sesame seeds on the surface. Although sesame balls are just a very common snack, they are not complicated to make; they are fried with glutinous rice flour and added with sesame seeds. Some are wrapped with sesame paste, bean paste and other fillings, and some are not.
