a. Historical evolution: In the Qing Dynasty, Poxin area belonged to the West Coast Map under the jurisdiction of Xixiang in Ding 'an County and the South Far Map under the jurisdiction of Nanxiang. In 1928, it was Ji 'an Township and Donglu Township in the eighth district of Ding 'an County. In 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Dingxi Special Zone. In July 1952, Gaolang Township (the first jurisdiction of tunchang), Baishi Township, Nantai Township and Guanlang Township (the second jurisdiction of tunchang) were established. In 1974, Poxin Commune was established, and Gaolang, Nantai and Haizhu originally belonging to Tunchang Commune and Guanlang and Malang Brigade belonging to Nanlu Commune were placed under Poxin Commune. In December 1982, it was called Poxin District, which has jurisdiction over 9 townships: Gaolang, Gaopo, Jiamai, Xinpo, Guanlang, Malang, Baishi, Nantai and Haizhu. In March 1987, Poxin District was changed to Poxin Township. Since July 22, Poxin Township has been changed to Poxin Town. There are 8 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee, 46 natural villages, 16 economic clubs, 2,413 households and 12,139 people in the town. The total area is 46.89 square kilometers, and the cultivated land area is 16,461 mu, including 8,246 mu of paddy field, 3,686 mu of dry land and 4,529 mu of sloping land. There is one middle school and nine primary schools in the town.
