Activity preparation: Collect pictures of bridges. Activity process: 1. The teacher organizes children’s exchanges and mobilizes children’s existing experience about bridges.

Teacher: Have you ever seen a bridge? Where and what kind of bridge have you seen? 2. The teacher shows pictures and leads to topics about the development history of bridges.

Teacher: This is the earliest bridge built by people. What is it called? What shape is it? Teacher: Why do people build a single-plank bridge here? The teacher shows a picture of a stone bridge.

Discussion: Which is stronger, a single-plank bridge or a stone bridge? Why? The teacher shows pictures of stone arch bridges and asks children to compare stone bridges and stone arch bridges.

The teacher shows pictures of cable bridges, cable-stayed bridges, and suspension bridges: These were built by people later. Let’s see what the bridge deck is built on. Why doesn’t it look like an arch bridge? 3. Guide the children to ask questions that they are interested in.
