June 23rd is International Olympic Day.
Olympic Day was established by the International Olympic Committee in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Games on June 23, 1894 in the Sorbonne, Paris.
The purpose of the anniversary is to encourage all people in the world to participate in sports activities, regardless of gender, age or sports skill level.
