Meixian is a district of Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, on the upper reaches of the Han River and in the middle of Meizhou City. It has a total area of ??2,483 square kilometers.

As of 2018, Meixian District has jurisdiction over one street and 18 towns; it also has jurisdiction over one township-level unit.

1. History Meixian District was founded in the Qin Dynasty. In the fourth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (971), Jingzhou was renamed Meizhou. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the state government system was abolished and Meizhou was renamed Meixian.

In October 2013, the State Council approved the dissolution of Meixian County into a district. Meijiang District and Meijiang District are both under the jurisdiction of Meizhou City and are called Meicheng.

Meixian District is a settlement of the Han and Hakka ethnic groups with a history of more than 1,500 years. It is known as the hometown of culture, longevity, overseas Chinese and football.

2. Scenic spots Meixian’s scenic spots include traditional Chinese ancient villages. The village originated in the early Ming Dynasty and gradually prospered. It reached its peak in the late Qing Dynasty. There are 34 traditional houses in the village, among which Shaode Hall was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 500 years.
