Adjusting the cooking method of fruit into vegetables to boost summer appetite

The high temperature in recent days makes people feel lazy and lose appetite. Nutritionists say that as long as the cooking methods of food are changed and fruits are selected appropriately, the food will be cooler, fresher and more delicious, thus achieving the effect of stimulating appetite. Lin Jialing, a nutritionist, suggested that cold dishes such as cold cucumber can be chosen as a string of hot dishes to help appetizers in summer. (Photo courtesy/Dali Renai Hospital)

Lin Jialing, head of the nutrition group of Dali Renai Hospital in Taichung, said that mastering the following food skimming steps can boost the appetite in summer:

The temperature of food: cold cuts can be used as a cross-dressing between hot dishes, such as preserved egg tofu, cold cucumber, chilled bitter gourd and sesame vermicelli. These cold dishes are easy to make without heating and can be stored in ice, which not only helps to stimulate appetite in hot summer, but also saves gas expenses.

Fat of food: Chicken with sesame oil, noodles with pig's feet or ginger duck are winter delicacies, but they are not popular in summer. The main reason is that greasy fat in food makes people shy away. It is suggested to adjust the cooking method to a refreshing and non-greasy way, such as marinating, roasting, boiling and steaming. Common dishes such as boiled chicken, steamed pork slices and braised duck wings.

taste of food: make good use of natural spices and cook dishes such as rosemary roast chicken steak, citronella pork chop and cumin slices to stimulate appetite. In addition, seasonings with different tastes, such as sour, sweet and spicy, can also be added to enhance the layering of food, for example, sour cabbage and sweet and sour fish.

Changes in food: Add fruits that cool off in summer into vegetables to increase the variety of diet, such as winter melon cups, bitter gourd and pineapple chicken soup, fragrant mango fish sticks, dried shrimps with apples, and shredded papaya in cold sauce.

In addition, Lin Jialing's nutritionist also provides recipes and practices of "colorful shredded chicken with cold sauce" and "passion fruit jelly", so that parents can enjoy the fun of cooking with their children during the summer vacation, and also cool off the summer!
