Liu Bang rushed after hearing the news, but was blocked by a river. He was suffering from no money to take a boat. Suddenly a big turtle swam in the river and swam across the river carrying Liu Bang.

Liu Bang found Fan Kuai. Fan Zheng was worried that no one cared about the dog meat. Liu Bang grabbed the dog meat and ate it. As soon as Liu Bang ate it, people started to compete to buy it.

Later, Liu Bang often rode a turtle across the river to eat it. Fan Kuai was angry with the turtle and killed it and cooked it with dog meat. Unexpectedly, the dog meat became more fragrant and the dog meat was sold out. So far, the scent of dog meat cooked in turtle soup has not diminished.

Therefore, Peixian dog meat is also called “dog meat with turtle juice”.

After Liu Bang established the world, Fan Kuai passed on the turtle juice soup to his nephew, and it has been passed down from generation to generation.

Peixian dog meat is mainly eaten cold. When eating, the meat is torn by hand without cutting with a knife, and its taste is particularly good.

According to legend, after Liu Bang became the chief of the Sishui pavilion, he was very angry when he learned that Fan Kuai had killed the old turtle. He took away all the knives used by Fan Kuai to cut dog meat and ordered him not to use knives in the future.

Fan Kuai had no choice but to tear the dog meat into pieces with his hands and sell them.

Therefore, the way of eating dog meat in Peixian County without a knife has been passed down to this day.

In 195 BC, Liu Bang, the great ancestor of the Han Dynasty, put down the rebellion of Wang Yingbu of Huainan. He passed through his hometown of Peixian County and entertained the villagers. He drank dog meat and drank heavily. He wrote the poem "Song of the Great Wind": "The strong wind is blowing, the clouds are flying, and the sea is coming back home."
