Daoxiang Village was founded in Suzhou in 1773 (the thirty-eighth year of Qingganlong). It mainly deals in Chinese cakes, pickled green salt and candied roasted seeds and nuts, and has a history of nearly two and a half centuries. It is one of the oldest enterprises in China's pastry industry, and it is also a nationally certified "China Time-honored Brand".
Xu Hongsheng, the fifth-generation inheritor of pastry-making skills in Daoxiang Village, introduced that Soviet-style cakes have become the representative of traditional Chinese cakes because of their superior materials, meticulous production technology and exquisite finished products.
The origin of the name
According to the book Southern Diet Story, when Emperor Qianlong visited Suzhou in the south, he had nothing to do one day. He met Daoxiang Village incognito, and suddenly realized that the name of this store was quite elegant, so he strolled into it. After tasting the honey cake in the shop, I praised it as "delicious in food." After returning to the palace, Suzhou government was ordered to pay tribute to rice cakes in Daoxiang village in the future. After eating the honey cake in the palace, Ganlong was so happy that he was given a gourd signboard with the words "Daoxiang Village" written on it, and the font was Feijin, so Daoxiang Village became famous all over the world.
