Macao is a city suitable for hiking. Although the place is small, it is full of kaleidoscope-like temptations, so it is inevitable to deviate from the established tour route intentionally or unintentionally. However, it is not difficult to return to the tour route.

The best starting point for hiking is in front of the square pavilion in the center of Macau, where one of the tourist information offices of the Tourism Bureau is located. The Tourism Bureau provides brochures about Macao tourism, which give a detailed introduction to the scenic spots that can be seen on the hiking route.

New Road (41 minutes)

The heart of the city

The official name of this road is the Amata Ribeiro Avenue, but Macao residents call it the new road, which is the main street in the urban area, connecting Nanwan Avenue and Inner Harbor. The new road is less than a mile long, but there are traces of life of native Portuguese everywhere. At the beginning of the new road, there are potted flowers and antique street lamps on the pavement paved with gravel on both sides. On the left is the newly-built China Bank Branch, and on the right is the Atlantic Bank (the Atlantic Bank was built in 1912, which is an overseas Portuguese bank. When it was rebuilt, the facade of the original building was preserved and a skyscraper was built in it). Adjacent to the bank is a typical commercial and residential building in the coastal area of China (yellow-brown body, painted relief, balcony surrounded by dark iron railings), and its bottom floor. On the other side of the road, a steep road facing the stone stairs is Longsongzheng Street ┅ ┅ Longsongzheng Street has a central square on its left, and there are some famous brand clothing stores. Now it's the headquarters of the SAR Government. On the left is Nanwan Artificial Lake, and the music fountain in the lake has wonderful performances every night. Now we are back on the new road, and the front of the new road and the discussion pavilion are brightly lit. People in front of the discussion pavilion are bustling, shopping and leisure. Continue along the new road and turn into. The street kitchen overflowed with bursts of fragrance; Playing with the sound of sparrows and the music coming from the open window; There are endless people walking leisurely in the street. There are many restaurants, large and small. If you are hungry, you can walk into any restaurant at will.

On the mountain, there is a fort and lighthouse looking east (the fort was built in 1637; Built in 1865, the lighthouse is the first lighthouse in the coastal area of China, which is still in use today. There is also the Church of Our Lady in the Snow, which is baroque (frescoes were found on the walls and ceiling of the church during the restoration). Here, you can enjoy the city scenery and the nearby sea view, the tourist information office and a small coffee room. This highway around the mountains is a walk, and there are some recreational facilities along the way, which is a good place for people to exercise, walk birds and talk about love. Dr. Sun Yat-sen's footprint

Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who led the Revolution of 1911 to overthrow the Manchu government in 1911, was born in Cuiheng Village, dozens of kilometers north of Macao. After graduating from Queen's College in Hong Kong in 1892, he moved to Macau and practiced medicine in Jinghu Hospital in Macau. This was his first job. He rented a suite at No.14 in front of the discussion pavilion (this building no longer exists). Until later, he had the money to buy a house in Wendi Lane. Because his family has a growing population (the original wife, a son and two daughters), he published an article in Echo Macaense newspaper/magazine, advocated reform, helped farmers in China, and founded schools for the working masses. Chico Fernandes, editor of Echo Macaense newspaper/magazine, is one of Sun Yat-sen's supporters ┅┅ Another supporter is Lu Jiu (a major philanthropist and businessman in China, who built Lu Lianruo Garden and founded Jinghu Hospital) ┅┅┅ Lu Jiu persuaded the hospital to lend Dr. Sun Yat-sen two thousand silver dollars, so that he could open a Chinese and Western medicine bureau in Caodui Street (the pharmacy is no longer available). At that time, it was a gathering place for Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the liberals. ┅┅ Dr. Sun Yat-sen was also a frequent visitor to Lu Lianruo Garden. ┅┅ In 1894, Lu Jiu learned that the comprador of the Manchu government was planning to overthrow Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and Mr. Sun Yat-sen was forced to leave, first to go to Guangdong, where he established the China Revolutionary Renaissance Alliance. ┅┅ Later, he left Guangdong to come to Macau and stayed there for a few days. However, his family stayed in Macau. In 1928, an ammunition depot exploded and destroyed their apartment. His family decided to build the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on the original site. The Memorial Hall is a building full of Muslim colors, which contains books, letters, photos, newspapers and other articles about Dr. Sun Yat-sen's life, as well as some donated souvenirs. In addition, a bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen stands in the garden beside the museum. The memorial hall is open to the public from 11 am to 5 pm every day and closed on Tuesdays.

Looking at Yangshan in the west (91 minutes)

The meeting place between Portugal and China

It is located in this area between the South Bay and the Inner Port of Macau Peninsula (looking at Yangshan in the west), and there are many scenic spots worth seeing, so it is suggested to arrange the meal time during the tour. Please also note: It is best not to take this tour route on Tuesday, because maritime museum will be closed on Tuesday.

Starting from the front of the discussion pavilion, take the Suyali Physician Street on the side of the Civil Affairs Department, turn left, and take the east inclined lane to the front of the hilltop. The road surface in front of the hilltop is paved with Portuguese gravel to form a wavy pattern, with green street lights erected on the front, and the antique ┅ ┅ St. Austin Church on the left of the hilltop (by Reverend Austin on 1511) Cruise along the bitter road set up in the city) ┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅𗈹┅┅┅┅𗈹𗈹94777 If you like to see the church, you can go to the street in St. Lawrence's Church along the right side of St. Lao Lengzuo Hall. There is a small church of St. Joseph's monastery (built by Jesuits, the layout of the church is Latin cross, with a dome above it. There is a sacred box in the church, in which St. Francois Xavier's arm bone is placed, and St. Francois Xavier died in Shangchuan Island in the south of Macau). Go down the narrow Beidi Lane to Nanwan Avenue ┅┅┅ On the left is a building rich in southern European architectural style-the headquarters of the Macao Special Administrative Region ┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅𗈹┅┅┅┅┅┅┅9 In the park, children can learn to drive by pedaling a car, turn right, go up the inclined lane of the ash furnace, pass the residence of the Portuguese Consul General in Macau (Qianfengjing Hotel) and the Hao Hotel (where you can have a rest and have a drink), now go up the main street of Zhushi, turn left and turn into the inclined lane of looking west at the ocean, and you will arrive at the Bishop's Mansion and the Temple of Looking West at the Ocean (. Chenery's Footprints

Anyone familiar with Chenery's paintings can recognize many streets in the old city of Macau. We suggest a long tourist route, but if time is short, you can visit it selectively. The tour begins with the Christian cemetery (Chenery's tombstone is one of the most exquisite designs; Ma Lixun was also buried here, and Chenery painted Ma Lixun's tombstone in his paintings in 1838) ┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅┅𗈹𗈹┅┅┅┅┅┅947 At that time, the "park", now the White Dove Nest Park, was a very lively place. The White Dove Nest Park and the nearby Fort and St. Paul's Church are often the scenery painted by Chenery. Chenery's sketch of St. Paul's Church is one of the few existing paintings showing the scene before the church was destroyed by fire. Continue to walk in front of the discussion pavilion. Historic buildings in this area, such as the Church of the Virgin Rose and the Church of Mercy, often become the background of Chenery's sketches and watercolors (children playing in the street, barbers in the street, vendors and animals (pigs) in the market).
