There are seven municipal districts in Kunming, including Wuhua District, Panlong District, Xishan District, Guandu District, Chenggong District, Jinning District and Dongchuan District.
1. Wuhua District
One of the central urban areas of Kunming (the core area) is the residence of Yunnan provincial government and the political and cultural center of Yunnan. The jurisdiction covers an area of 381.6 square kilometers, of which the built-up area is about 54.5 square kilometers (excluding 5 square kilometers in the northwest area of high-tech zone). Wuhua District is the historical and cultural center of Kunming, and most of the central area under its jurisdiction is the road pattern and street name of the old city of Ming and Qing Dynasties (Guicheng).
2. Panlong District
One of the central urban areas of Kunming (the water source area of Kunming), the former residence of Kunming Municipal Government; (Before November 217), the administrative nominal jurisdiction area is 345.83 square kilometers, and the built-up area is about 57 square kilometers. In 29, in order to protect the safety of water sources and drinking water in the main city of Kunming and facilitate unified and coordinated management, Panlong District exercised management rights (trusteeship) over Aziying Town and Dianyuan Town in Songming County, with an actual jurisdiction of 886.9 square kilometers.
3. Guandu District
From the land of fish and rice on the north bank of Dianchi Lake to the "first county in Yunling" where the market economy is booming, from the county where GDP first broke through 1 billion yuan in the whole province to the "Top 1 Districts in China", Guandu, who is in sync with the times and walks with the motherland, composed a vigorous "March" of economic and social development with wisdom and sweat.
4. Xishan District
One of the central urban areas of Kunming is adjacent to Dianchi Lake in the south. As the resident of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Congress, Provincial Political Consultative Conference and other organs, Xishan District, one of Yunnan's political centers, has a total area of 791 square kilometers and a built-up urban area of about 5.2 square kilometers. Xishan District is the largest area for managing Dianchi Lake, with many tourist attractions. Haikou Street in the outer suburb is the old industrial area of Kunming.
5. Chenggong District
The main city of Kunming is a new space development area, where municipal authorities such as Kunming Municipal Committee, Municipal Government and Municipal People's Congress are stationed. Modern new Kunming administrative center, Yunnan higher education center and new science and technology city have built Yunnan University Town, and many major university campuses in Yunnan are planned and built in the area. It is also the national flower trade and trading center. The administrative jurisdiction covers an area of 461 square kilometers (Majinpu District hosts Kunming High-tech Zone, Luoyang District hosts Kunming Economic Development Zone, and Dayu District hosts Dianchi Resort); The built-up area is about 58 square kilometers.
6. The administrative area of Jinning District
is 1391 square kilometers, which is the birthplace of ancient Yunnan civilization. It is also the hometown of navigator Zheng He. (Formed by the merger of Jinning County and Kunyang County in the early days) is an important part of Kunming's urban core area (Nancheng and Xicheng of modern new Kunming).
7. Dongchuan District
was originally a prefecture-level city in Yunnan (Cloud B). Now it is a municipal district of Kunming, with a total area of 1858.79 square kilometers. Located in the northeast of Yunnan Province and the northernmost part of Kunming City, 15 kilometers away from downtown Kunming. In 217, the total population of Dongchuan District was 32,, and the district administration had one street, six towns and one township.
