However, in "Compendium of Materia Medica", Li Shizhen quoted the famous doctor Sun Simiao as saying: "Eating raw onions and honey will cause diarrhea." It can be seen that Li Shizhen does not think that eating honey and onions together will kill people.
However, when the organic acids and enzymes in honey meet the sulfur-containing amino acids in onions, they will produce biochemical reactions in the human body and cause diarrhea. Therefore, it is said to "make diarrhea". Nowadays, people use onions and honey to treat constipation.

Modern medicine has proven that consuming honey with onions and garlic at the same time will not produce any adverse effects and will not lead to poisoning or death.
