When talking about Lucheng District, most people think of the Lucheng District Government, the Old Affiliated Hospital in the city center, and Wuma Street to the east of Ouhai Avenue as the center of Lucheng District. In fact, the land area to the west of Ouhai Avenue is almost twice that of the east.
.
But I have never been to the west side of Lucheng District.
As a landmark building in Wenzhou, I often go to Wuma Street.
I had nothing to do with my friends and took a stroll around Wuma Street in the city center.
Wuma Street is a landmark street where you can go shopping. You can take the bus and get off at Dayanmen Station and walk towards the alley inside.
This is not to say that you only go there to buy goods, but you can appreciate the architectural style of this street that combines Chinese and Western styles. It is somewhat similar to Zhongshan Road in Xiamen. It is a comprehensive commercial street that combines leisure, food, and goods.
Some people may think that Wuma Street is too commercial and has no characteristics, but they are wrong.
In fact, the streets and alleys around Wuma Street were the commercial center of Wenzhou in ancient times. They gathered rows of shops such as silk cloth shops, department stores, copper and tin utensil shops, Chinese and Western pharmacies, and banks.
Wuma Street is a commercial street that runs east-west. Walking north from every alley on Wuma Street, you can see the quaint Wenzhou Old Street. If you stroll carefully, you can also see the former sites of ancient shops.
Most of these old sites are now shops or residences.
An inconspicuous store you pass may have its own unique history and culture.
If you have time, you can slowly explore its story.
? In that old street, there is an old street called Drum Tower Street, and there is an ancient city gate called Drum Tower, also called Qiao Tower.
There is an alley called Gong'an Road near the west exit of Wuma Street. You can walk directly to Qiao Tower after walking for 100 to 200 meters.
Qiao Tower is located at the crossroads of Gulou Street and Gong'an Road. This ancient city tower has carried thousands of years of vicissitudes. Whether it is dilapidated or brand new, it still stands guarding the endless flow of the old street every day.
As for this ancient city tower, Wenzhou people in the old city may have become accustomed to it.
Walking up the old green stone steps slowly, there is a small museum showing the history of Wenzhou upstairs.
You can learn what Wenzhou was like in ancient times here.
The east exit of Wuma Street is the Jiefang Building, which runs north-south. Follow Jiefang Road southward for a few dozen meters. When you reach a three-way intersection, you can see Wenzhou's Kaitai Department Store. The other name of the three-way intersection is
The end of Xiechi Lane is within the scope of the First Affiliated Hospital in the city center, and the memorial hall of Xie Lingyun is here, which is where the name of Xiechi Lane comes from.
The memorial hall is small and rectangular.
We finished shopping in about half an hour.
If you just take a quick look, you can come out in ten minutes.
The memorial hall has four major sections: Xie Lingyun and landscape poems, Xie Lingyun and Wenzhou landscapes, exhibition of Xie Lingyun's descendants, and Xie Lingyun's study.
But when we went there, some of the houses inside were closed and we couldn't see the poetry on display.
The memorial hall has an overall wooden structure. The innermost part is the largest courtyard, which is the photo shown above. There is a small pond. The green pond complements the surrounding green trees. Can you tell that it is winter?
There is a side door next to it, which leads directly to the entrance and exit.
The ground is covered with warm stones, and a few bleak branches on the roadside lean against the blue brick and white walls, giving it a winter atmosphere.
After exiting the door, there is a round arch on the left, which is one of the entrances to Zhongshan Park.
A nearby stop is called Zhongshan Park Station.
Near the city center are large parks such as Zhongshan Park, Bailuzhou Park, Ma'anchi Park, Jiushan Park, and Huagaishan Park. There are many cultural attractions in or near the parks.
We wandered along the stone road at the foot of the mountain, with lush trees on one side and a large pool with fountains on the other.
There is a canteen in the park, next to the pavilion of the elderly activity center. Some elderly people are chatting, some are exercising, and some are playing chess.
The scenery opposite the Senior Activity Center is nice.
There is a Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall at the exit of Zhongshan Park, but we did not go up.
After leaving Zhongshan Park, opposite is Huagaishan Park. There are many old people exercising on the mountain. Some are playing badminton, some are dancing in the square, and some are playing chess.
We saw an old man doing leg presses, and then he did the splits. As young people, we were all ashamed of ourselves.
We walked all the way to the top of the mountain and planned to walk down from the other side, passing by the Grand View Pavilion, temple and bamboo forest on the top of the mountain.
We walked around and came down from another exit on the mountain. We didn’t want to climb up anymore to find the way, so we passed through the air raid tunnel market at the foot of the mountain. The tunnel is very special. There is a small shopping mall above and a highway below.
The tunnel gets stuffier as you go inside. The tunnel is one to two hundred meters long. There are so many people and the distance is so long that the air doesn't circulate.
It's just after lunch, so the smell of the leftovers shouldn't be too good.
Because we were so hungry, we took a long walk back to Jiefang Road and searched the map to find a famous wonton shop.
Business in the store was so good that the first floor was full, so I went up to the second floor. The second floor was half the size of the first floor and there were many seats. Just when I was waiting for the wontons to be served, the second floor was full in a blink of an eye.
