What do I need to prepare to travel to Macau during the epidemic? How much does it cost for 2 people?

I just came back from a trip to Macau, so I can answer your questions just right.

We are currently in the midst of an epidemic, so traveling to Macau requires more preparation than usual.

Since Hong Kong has not cleared customs yet, I won’t go into details here (if there is no epidemic, just prepare a Hong Kong and Macau pass, and the required materials are basically the same as those in Macau).

Now that Macau is open for tourism, all mainland residents traveling from the mainland do not need to quarantine!

I went to Macau via Zhuhai Hengqin Port (land route). In fact, the requirements for flying are the same. The specific information to prepare is as follows.

1. Hong Kong and Macao Pass + Macao Endorsement It was very convenient to apply for Macao endorsement in the past. You can apply for it at the self-service machine, and the endorsement will be issued immediately, which is very fast.

However, during the current epidemic, you can only make an appointment in advance to go to the local certificate processing hall. The visa processing time will be relatively long, so it is recommended to prepare in advance.

Taking Guangzhou as an example, local residents of Guangzhou can apply for the visa in 7 working days (generally, it does not take 7 days); if they are non-local residents, it will take up to 21 working days (not required in actual testing).

2. Nucleic acid test proves that when entering or leaving Macau, you need to provide your own nucleic acid report within 7 days. Note that it is entry and exit, so the time from your arrival in Macau to departure needs to be within these 7 days.

You can go to the local hospital for nucleic acid testing 1-2 days in advance, and the price is RMB 75 (specifically subject to local conditions).

Nucleic acid test results can be viewed in the local health code. It is recommended to bring a paper version of the report in case of emergency. When transferring to the manual channel, a paper version of the report is required.

3. Due to the epidemic in Hong Kong or Australian dollars, the "Fortune Bus" (hotel shuttle bus) in Macau casinos has suspended many services, and most of them stop operating after 6 p.m.

So the transportation in Macau is no longer as convenient as before.

Be prepared to have more cash to pay for a taxi. Although the taxi driver can use his WeChat to collect payment, he will charge you directly in RMB, so you will lose money after calculating the exchange rate!

Moreover, many time-honored food restaurants and snack bars in Macau have not yet opened WeChat or Alipay for payment, and only accept cash.

You can also pay directly in RMB, but they will not calculate the exchange rate difference with you. They will charge you directly at 1:1, so it is most cost-effective to exchange cash for MOP.

4. Cost Nowadays, traveling to Macau cannot be too cheap.

Let’s talk about hotels first. At present, the Macau Tourism Bureau on wx has launched the “Ctrip Macau Hotel 50% Off Coupon”. After winning the lottery, staying in a good hotel for one night only costs about 300 yuan (basically you can win).

For transportation, you can take the hotel's shuttle bus, so it doesn't cost much.

There are a lot of delicious food in Macau, and it depends on the people. Many local time-honored food restaurants charge about 40-50 yuan per person. 300 yuan is enough for two people to eat a day.

As for personal shopping consumption, people have different opinions, and now that Macau’s tourism is sluggish, merchants have also launched a lot of promotions and there are many discounts on shopping.

If you exclude shopping expenses, two people spend about 600-700 yuan a day.

It can be said that it is more cost-effective than domestic travel.

In general, when going to Macau, you need to prepare a Macau visa, a nucleic acid test report and a small amount of cash.

The cost for 2 people is about 700 per day.

In addition, free wifi is provided in all hotels and shopping malls in Macau, and some tourist attractions will also have free wifi in the city, so there is no need to worry about Internet access.

If there is nothing particularly important, you don’t need to activate mobile phone roaming.

Hope the above content can help you.
