From Bai Juyi, a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty, "Looking at Xijiang Tower to Invite Guests": "Lights are everywhere in the city, and the Milky Way is in the middle of the water."
Looking at the Xijiang River is the work of Bai Juyi, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. This was written by the author when he was in charge of the secretariat of Hangzhou in the summer of 823 (Tang Dynasty). The work depicts the scenery that the poet saw when he climbed the stairs on a summer night. The word "Wang" dominates the whole article, and the scenery of the whole article is closely related to the word "Wang". The tail couplet sends an invitation to a friend, with the word "invited guest" in the title. "The wind blows the ancient trees on sunny days and rains, and the moon shines on the sand and frosts on the summer nights" is a famous phrase from ancient times to the present, which vividly depicts the cool and beautiful scenery of the summer nights.
From Bai Juyi's Jiang Lou Wang Tang Dynasty.
The original text is as follows:
At night, looking east on the upper floor of the river, the sea is connected with the sea as far as the eye can see; The feeling of mountains and rivers is wide and long.
The city lights up around, and a galaxy sinks into the center of the water.
On a sunny day, the wind blows against the old trees, rustling as if it were raining; On summer nights, the moon hangs all over the ground, just like autumn frost.
Can we go to the river to cool off? Refresher than your cabin.
Translation:
Go upstairs and look east at night. The sky is as endless as the sea. The shape of the mountain and the posture of the water are open and long. Surrounded by thousands of lights, a galaxy is reflected in the middle of the water. The wind blew against the old tree, making a sound like rain on a sunny day. The moonlight shines on the flat beach, just like the frost on a summer night. Can you cool off at the bottom of the river? It's cooler than your cabin.
Appreciate:
The poet described the summer scenery in Jiangcheng as particularly beautiful. There are not only the natural beauty of vast mountains and rivers, but also the paradise and prosperous weather on the water. The descriptions of "Ancient Wood" and "Pingsha" vividly depict a kind of quiet cold, which makes people feel that the summer heat is gone and the spirit is refreshing-this is indeed a good place to cool off.
Everything written in the poem is ordinary scenery: sea, sky, mountains and rivers, lights, galaxy, stormy trees and frost under the moon ... but its beauty lies in the combination of so many things in a short poem, just like a distant landscape painting, which finally ends in people's mood and makes the whole painting more beautiful.
Creative background:
Linjiang Tower Looking West was written in the summer of 823 AD (the third year of Changqing in Tang Muzong). At that time, poets were in charge of the history of Hangzhou. When the poet was drinking at night to attract friends, he saw the scenery outside Hangzhou from upstairs and was inspired to write this improvisation.
