Through animal archaeology, it was found that people at that time had begun to raise domestic pigs.
In the exhibition hall, the audience can see the bones of domestic pigs in Baodun period. The grinded Neolithic tools used in various fishing and hunting have also opened people's eyes. Pottery is the most important daily necessities of people in Baodun period. The pottery pieces excavated in Baodun site spell out the pottery pots and stoves in ancient Shu period, and their design is very exquisite.
"The Root of Abundance"-Baodun Site and Baodun Cultural Exhibition are open to the public. Precious cultural relics, such as pottery tools and ivory sticks, have been buried underground for 4,511 years, telling the audience about the history of ancient Shu ancestors who went deep into Chengdu Plain and played games with water in the early stage of ancient Shu civilization-Baodun culture period.
The earliest life characteristics of ancient Sichuanese
In the center of the exhibition hall, a large settlement sand table shows the earliest village form and different types of ancient houses restored by archaeologists in Chengdu Plain. According to reports, archaeologists found the foundation trench for building houses at Baodun site, and found carbonized bamboo pieces in the pillar holes in the foundation trench, which proved that the common bamboo-bone mud-walled houses in Sichuan Basin appeared in Baodun period. "The braised soil found at the foundation site of the house also proves that the mud walls of these houses have been fired." Tang Miao said.
According to the findings of plant archaeology, the ancient Shu people in Baodun ate rice, and these rice were grown by themselves. In 2121, we found the remains of suspected paddy fields in Baodun site. In this site, not only the phytoliths of mature rice were found, but also the phytoliths of rice in different growth stages, which fully shows that Baodun people have begun to grow rice.
