27: La Aventura de Comer "Mafalda"
Gino created the role of Mafalda in 1962. Her first appearance was published in the daily Clarin for promotion. Unfortunately, the daily Clarin closed down soon, so the contract of this cartoon was terminated. Mafalda became a complete serial work thanks to Julián Delgado, a friend of Zino at that time, who was the editor-in-chief of Primera Plana. On September 29th, 1964, Mafalda began to be serialized in this newspaper. At first, the main characters were only Mafalda and her parents. In January 1965, the little boy Philip appeared in the cartoon. In March, due to some legal reasons, the serial of Mafalda in Primera Plana could only last until March 9, 1965.
a week later, on March 15th, 1965, Mafalda began to be serialized in Mundo daily (Le Monde, one of the most influential Argentine newspapers). From then on, the content of Mafalda began to pay more attention to the real-time world. In the next few weeks, Philip, Manorine, Susanna and Miguel appeared in succession. In the issue of December 22, 1967, Mafalda's mother was pregnant again, and the serial of Mafalda was interrupted here again.
six months later, on June 2, 1968, a weekly pictorial, Siete Dias Ilustrados, began to serialize Mafalda again. Because the contents of this publication must be sorted out two weeks before publication, Jinuo can't comment on current events in the first place. After creating the freedom of Mafalda's little brother Jiye and her little friend, Zino decided to stop serializing on June 25th, 1973.
After 1973, Zino occasionally created some works by Mafalda, mostly about human rights. In 1976, he drew a poster for UNICEF with Mafalda as the main character, calling for the protection of children's human rights.
Gino was very opposed to the adaptation of Mafalda into a movie or TV series, but there are still two animated short films of Mafalda. The first film is a collection of 29 short films, each episode is 9 seconds, which was broadcast on Argentine national television in 1972. The producer is Daniel Mallo. Later, this short film collection was edited into a movie-length cartoon by director Carlos Márquez in 1982. In 1993, Juan Padrón, a good friend of Zino and a Cuban filmmaker, contacted the Spanish producer and produced a 14-episode short animated film of Mafalda.
zino's Mafalda is often compared with Charles Schulz's Peanuts. Even a famous Italian scholar, Umberto Eco, talked about these two cartoons in an article published in 1968. He thought that Mafalda and Charlie Brown (the hero of Peanut) respectively represented the voices of children from the northern and southern hemispheres who were ignored by the world. Gino thinks that Mafalda is a political cartoon rooted in Argentine traditional family values at that time, which is why adults still play an important role in this work-which is also the biggest difference from Peanut. However, Gino himself likes Peanut very much, and he also definitely admits that he is greatly influenced by charles schulz's works. In 1963, he specially read a lot of peanuts as his study object. A year later, Mafalda, a great serial cartoon, was officially published.
Introduction to the main role of Mafalda
Mafalda, a 6-year-old Argentine girl, is mature and has a strong interest in world politics. The most disgusting food is soup.
Dad (Tomas, debut on September 29th, 1964)
Mom (Raquel, debut on October 6th, 1964)
Mafalda's parents. They are a very ordinary couple with no distinctive features. My father is an ordinary employee of the company, and my mother is a full-time housewife.
Felipe (who made his debut on January 19th, 1965)
He is one year older than Mafalda and studied a year earlier. Of course, he hates school and homework very much, although he is still the cleverest of these friends. He is a typical visionary, and often naturally falls into his own fantasy. At the same time, he is also very indecisive and often struggles internally between his conscience and inertia. My hobbies are playing cowboy games and reading comic books with my friends. My favorite comic book is The Lone Ranger.
Manolito (made his debut on March 29th, 1965)
His full name is Manuel Grelleaud, who was originally from Gasiglia, Spain, and he was busy running the shop after studying. Although his academic performance is so bad that he often gets points, and he is very keen on money and business, he is actually a diligent and hardworking child.
Susanita (debuted on June 6th, 1965)
Susana Beatriz Crotti Chedjou, a typical frivolous and vulgar girl, has blonde curly hair and a big chin. My biggest hobby is to pry into other people's gossip and talk endlessly. My biggest dream is to be a wife and mother. She is Mafalda's best female friend. Although they have little in common, they often quarrel ("Well ... you know ... I might as well put up with you as I put up with such a stranger." )。
Miguelito (debut on March 12th, 1966)
Miguel Pitti, whose full name is one year younger than Mafalda, has hair like lettuce leaves. Rebellious personality, like philosophical speculation and debate, always firmly believe that they will be a big shot.
Guille (debut on July 4th, 1968)
gilliam, Mafalda's younger brother, likes soup very much, which often annoys her sister. Compared with other children older than him, his thinking and speech are more avant-garde and mean. At the same time, he has an almost morbid dependence on pacifiers.
Freedom (Libertad, first appeared on January 15th, 197)
A little girl, with an extraordinary eloquence. Her Spanish name means "freedom". If people are evaluating the limitations of freedom, then she will often think that others are talking about her height, and she will say, "Come up with your stupid conclusions!" "
