"I am from Pinghe County, Zhangzhou Prefecture, and I am a complete countryman. My hometown is among the high mountains and surrounded by high mountains." This is a passage written by the world cultural master Lin Yutang in "My Hometown".

There is a path in the yard, paved with fine cobblestones, and a plaque reading "Former Residence of Lin Yutang" hangs on the left side of the door.

When walking into the door, the first thing that catches your eye are the photos hanging on the wall, and a billboard with Mr. Lin Yutang printed on it. In the upper right corner, it says in cursive font, "Both feet on Eastern and Western culture, devoted to commenting on articles about the universe," in the lower right corner

It reads: I am a son of Longxi Village, surrounded by mountains and connected to the sky, named East Lake.

Lin Yutang's former residence is a one-story house with tiles and wood in the shape of "Tong", with red floor tiles and black tiles. In front of the house are several phoenix trees that tower into the sky. The fiery red phoenix flowers look like butterflies in the trees.

Flying, the ground is covered with falling maple leaves like a fiery red carpet.

A gust of autumn wind blows, and the leaves rustle, as if to welcome us.

At that time, both men and women, young and old, had to wear braids, but Yutang cut off his braids, so his father had to put a hat on him.

When we walked into the library, the first thing we saw was the introduction of Lin Yutang, as well as a large number of classics and many translated works written by him such as "Small Clouds of Beijing", "The Art of Living", "My Country and My People".

What impressed me most here is people's evaluation of him as "having both feet on Eastern and Western cultures, and wholeheartedly commenting on articles about the universe." This shows his great influence on Chinese culture and world culture.

Walking out of his former residence, he walked towards Hele Pier. When he arrived at Hele Pier, the wharf where Yutang left Banzai by boat for Xiamen is now named ‘Hele Pier’.

Because Yutang's name was Hele when he was a child, it was later changed to Yutang, and then to Yutang.

"After leaving the pier, we came to Sanri Bridge. On the other side of the bridge, we saw the statue of Lin Yutang standing tall in the distance. Next to him was a big pipe and two big grapefruits. Standing on the side of Yutang

In front of the statue, I couldn't help but sigh that "the soil and water nourish the people". It is this geomantic treasure land with outstanding people. It is the mountains and rivers of my hometown that have nurtured this cultural master. I am proud that my hometown has such a cultural master.

The primary school I attended became the current Yutang Primary School. It is located under the mountains and is very spiritual. This is the hometown where I was born and raised. When I have free time to leave the hustle and bustle of the city, I like to return to my hometown, Shanmei.

The water is beautiful, and the key is my mother’s handmade food.
