Ling, a native of Wuxi, was an outstanding painter, painting theorist and poet in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
Gu Kaizhi was erudite and talented, good at poetry, calligraphy, and especially painting. He was known as the three masters: painting, writing and crazy. Together with Cao Buxing, Lu Tanwei, and Zhang Sengyao, he was known as the "Four Masters of the Six Dynasties".
Gu Kaizhi's works include "Portrait of King Sima Xuan", "Portrait of Xie An", "Portrait of Liu Lao", "Portrait of Emperor Jin Xiang", "Picture of the Beauty of King Guiyang", etc. Among them are "Picture of Proverbs of the Female History", "Picture of Fu of Luo Shen" and "Picture of Column".
"Pictures of Female Benevolence and Wisdom" and "Pictures of Cutting the Qin" are treasures.
Details >> 2. Ni Zan Ni Zan, whose first name was _, also named Taiyu, later named Yuanzhen, also known as Yunlinzi, Jingmanmin, Huanxiazi, etc., was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and was a painter and poet in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties.
Ni Zan was good at painting landscapes and ink bamboos. He learned from Dong Yuan and was influenced by Zhao Mengxi. In his early years, his painting style was clear and smooth. In his later years, he changed his style and became plain and innocent. Together with Huang Gongwang, Wang Meng and Wu Zhen, he was known as the "Four Yuan Painters".
His extant works include "Picture of Autumn at Yuzhuang", "Picture of Six Gentlemen", "Picture of Rong Xi Zhai", etc. He is also the author of "Qingge Collection".
Details >> 3. Kang Xin Kang Xin, whose courtesy name is Junming, whose birth and death dates are unknown, lived around the time of Xiaozong in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, at the same time as Wang Xianzhi.
Benhu people later lived in Yixing (now Yixing).
A calligrapher and painter of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, he was an official in Linyi (now Linyi, Shandong).
He was good with Wang Xianzhi and studied under Wang Xizhi.
He was good at official calligraphy and painting, and was comparable to the famous calligrapher and painter Yang Xin who was the prefect of Yixing at that time.
Kang Xin's paintings are also very exquisite. He painted animals better than Yang Hui. It is said that "Five Beasts Pictures" has been handed down from generation to generation and was included in "Shuhua Ji" written by Sun Changzhi, a Song Dynasty scholar and historian of calligraphy and painting. It is now lost.

Details >> 5. Yin Shoushi Yin Shoushi (1919-1998), a native of Yixing, Jiangsu, is a famous calligraphy and painting artist.
His figure paintings focus on describing the spirit through form, and the character's character, temperament, and characteristics flow through his brushwork.
The galloping horses he painted are vivid and colorful, and he is a painter with personal characteristics and high achievements. In terms of calligraphy, he dabbled in many places in his early years, working in small regular script, and was especially good at cursive calligraphy.
He is one of the rare calligraphers with deep and stable structure, magnificent momentum, smoothness and gentleness, and strong connotation. He has served as the chairman of the Inner Mongolia Branch of the China Artists Association, the vice president of the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts, and the vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
