Xibei steet

Northwest Street is connected to Northeast Street in the east and Renmin Road in the west. The western section was formerly known as "Tianhou Palace Street" and the eastern section was formerly known as "North Street". Tianhou Palace Street was merged into 1980, collectively known as "Northwest Street". In the eyes of old Suzhou, it used to be the famous "Suzhou Fan Street", and Suzhou Sandalwood Fan Factory is located here.

On the side of northwest street, white walls and tiles, the lane is deep. The old house that still retains the original frame has been transformed to highlight the beauty of Jiangnan architecture. On one side are rows of gourmet shops, coffee shops and handicraft shops. The delicious vegetarian restaurant on the street, the original one-yuan noodle restaurant, Vu Thang Xing Crepe Soup Dumpling House and Xiaoyuanlou are all popular restaurants with good reputation. If you pass by, you can try them!

Beisi tower

Go to the intersection of Northwest Street and Renmin Road, and you will arrive at Baoen Temple Tower, one of the landmark buildings in Suzhou, commonly known as North Temple Tower. The North Temple Tower is 76 meters high and is the tallest building in the ancient city of Suzhou. The tower has eight sides and nine floors, with double eaves and lingering bamboo columns, and is known as the "first ancient tower in the south of the Yangtze River".

There is also a Soviet-style garden-Meiyuan behind the North Temple Tower. Although the garden is small, the rockeries are strewn at random, and it is quite interesting to walk across the small bridge and climb the stone steps. In winter, you can also enjoy plum blossoms in the garden.

Suzhou Silk Museum

Suzhou Silk Museum is located on the main road of Renmin Road in the ancient city of Suzhou, adjacent to the North Temple Tower. It is the first silk museum in China. In the square in front of Si Boqian, there is an artistic installation full of silk culture and creativity, "Sifang Rain". It is like the rain in the south of the Yangtze River, frozen in the air; Another example is white silk, like a thread, looming, like a shuttle picking up weft when the breeze blows. This is also a classic seat for shooting the reflection of the North Temple Tower!

Suzhou Silk Museum now has six exhibition areas: History Museum, Modern Museum, Children's Science Museum, Mulberry Garden, Silk Machinery Exhibition Room and Qian Xiaoping Silk Culture and Art Museum. The huge colorful satin loom in the museum is the most difficult loom to install and the most complicated weaving process in China at present.
