This school is not very famous in China, but it is ranked among the top five comprehensive universities in Canada. It seemed to be the first one last year. In other words, the quality of undergraduate education is very good. The mayor of Vancouver graduated from this school.
sfu is in Vancouver, where it’s neither cold in winter nor hot in summer. The school is roughly divided into three campuses, one is on the mountain in Burnaby, which is also the main campus, one is in Surrey, a little further away, and the other is in downtown. Transportation is convenient. The school's courses are distributed across these campuses. There are many Chinese people in Vancouver, and English is not available everywhere. Especially in Richmond, English is hardly spoken there.
You can learn about the school’s courses online, and people around you will want to know what major you are studying. There are many Chinese students in the business department. There are very few Chinese students in liberal arts. There are many Asians in the school, but not many can speak Mandarin.
The classes for freshman and sophomore year are basically large classes with hundreds of students. Most classes have a tutorial, which is a group for in-depth study under the class, organized by the TA, with about a dozen people in each group. Feel free to comment on this tutorial. This is an exercise opportunity that is difficult to get in domestic universities. In the third and fourth grades, the classes gradually shrank, with many having only a dozen or so people.
The learning atmosphere in the school is very strong and learning is quite intense. If there is anything else you would like to know, please contact me.
