Introduction to the Oriental Story of East Four Pailou: Harlan, the protagonist, was born in Baylor House, a dilapidated palace in Beijing, on 1909, and grew up with Lou Xiaoyue. Bandu, who once entered the palace, loved palace food and became unforgettable friends. In order to prevent the eunuch king and his adopted son king from hiding the national treasure, Chef Xieshen entrusted Harlan to protect the national treasure and was killed himself. To this end, my father was victimized on the wedding day of Harlan and Tong Lihua, and his family's fortune has since declined. In order to make a living, Harlan sold his property and went into business, but he was repeatedly persecuted by the king. Finally, he opened the Cuihua Building and was murdered and robbed by Wang.

Drama/opera review

Harlan was a nobleman of the last dynasty. Through his bumpy life, the audience can see the end of a decadent old era, the collision of culture and ideas when a brand-new era rises, and see China people's persistence in their feelings and inner beliefs about home and country in the great era. In "East Four Pailou East", Harlan was forced to flee by chance and staged "National Treasure Defence War" in many ways.

Harlan, who is at the core of the storm, seems to be gluttonous and playful and timid, but in fact she is pure in nature and attaches great importance to feelings and righteousness, and sticks to China's most traditional view of home and country and inner view of good and evil.
