China's ancient beasts include Ying Long, Kunpeng, Candle dragon, Lu Wu, Bai Ze, Sanzuwu and so on.

The mythical beasts in China ancient folk myths and legends refer to the creatures represented by two instruments and two saints (the sun shines and the moon shines) and the four spirits of heaven (Qinglong, White Tiger, Suzaku and Xuanwu), which can all be found in China's classics.

Most of these creatures can't find entities in reality, but the components of their images are derived from reality. Some ancient gods and beasts were used in China's divination, especially daoist magic and Liuyi. These beasts often appear in traditional buildings, playing the role of eliminating evil spirits, avoiding disasters and praying for blessings.
