According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Fengchu Street in Xuzhou starts from Minzhu South Road in the east and goes to Jiefang Road in Kuihe South in the west. There was no official street name here in the early years. Because there is a temple Tiefo Temple on the east bank of Beikui River in the west section of this street, people call it Tiefo Temple South. Because the temple was built on a high platform, it is also called Taimiaozi South. This Tiefo Temple is one of the eight famous temples in Xuzhou.
this street used to be a place where grain stores were concentrated. At its peak, there were more than 3 in the early 193s. Farmers in the nearby southeast mostly sell food on donkeys or human shoulders. The grain produced in the vast rural areas of Suining, Lingbi, Sihong and Sixian counties in Linxian County is loaded by boat, turned to Kuihe River along Suihe River and transported to these grain stores for sale.
