Goubangzi Smoked Chicken Origin Goubangzi Smoked Chicken was founded in the 15th year of Guangxu’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1889 AD). It is a traditional famous food outside Guangdong. The founder is Yin Yucheng, later known as Yin Siye.

In 1887, young Yin Yucheng traveled to Guandong alone. When he came to Daogoubangzi (today's Goubangzi Town, Beizhen City, Liaoning Province), which was the main gateway for customs clearance at that time, he saw the beautiful mountains and rivers and the simple folk customs here, so he decided to settle here.

He opened a noodle shop based on family techniques and brewed his own wine, which he called "Goubangzi Xiaoshao".

Yin Yucheng was so happy that he smoked chicken according to this method and boldly innovated and improved the formula. At the same time, he sold it with homemade shochu. Soon, "smoked chicken shochu" became famous in the streets and became a famous snack in Goubangzi.

With the help of his father-in-law, Fourth Master Yin founded a smoked chicken shop in 1889 and named it "Goubangzi Smoked Chicken".

Due to its unique taste, Goubangzi smoked chicken was favored by local people and passing merchants, and was later appointed by the imperial family as the "Palace Imperial Chicken."
