Yongtai Spring Festival customs

The Spring Festival in Yongtai is commonly known as "the New Year".

The twenty-sixth day of the twelfth lunar month is a big market day in some places in Yongtai. People from the villages around the market go to the market to buy new year's goods. To smoke, drink, and the laborers at home have begun to kill pigs. There are no households that raise pigs.

They go to the market to cut a piece of meat and take it home. Therefore, stewing pork on the 26th of the twelfth lunar month is also called "killing pigs and cutting new year's meat on the 26th of the twelfth lunar month."

On the twenty-eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, married daughters will go back to their parents’ homes to “send off the New Year”. They usually give roosters, pig’s feet, noodles, rice cakes and big fried fish, which means that the daughter respects her parents and never forgets the kindness of their parents in raising her.

For breakfast on the first day of the Lunar New Year, they will eat "New Year's rice" steamed on New Year's Eve, which means there will be more than enough in the coming year; they will also eat Taiping, which symbolizes peace throughout the year, and they will also drink the noodle soup, which means good weather in the coming year.

During the Spring Festival, Yongtai will hold a series of New Year Tourism Month activities called "Spring Travel to Fuzhou, Nature in Yongtai".

The activity integrates folk customs, hot springs, food, beautiful countryside tours, village tours and other special tourism resources. It launches a series of activities such as spring banquets, drinking village wine, plum blossom appreciation, and hot spring baths. It also launches a series of high-quality tourist routes to continue to be popular.

The Yongtai Spring Festival tourism market attracts foreign tourists to Yongtai to celebrate the New Year, while enhancing the people's sense of gain and happiness, and at the same time launching a new Yongtai tourism brand.
