This bridge is located at the entrance of the French Concession and was built under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the French Concession, so people in Tianjin called it the French Bridge at that time. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, the then National Government named this bridge after Chiang Kai-shek, which was called Zhongzheng Bridge. In 1949, after the liberation of Tianjin, the bridge was officially renamed as "jiefang bridge", which has been used ever since. There have been many stories and legends in jiefang bridge. Not only did the People's Liberation Army capture the bridge in just over 2 minutes, but it also staged a human tragedy in which some people committed suicide by jumping under the bridge. The gate is in the form of an arch, usually made of stone, and an arch roll is chiseled on the stone gate, one set of arch rolls from the outside to the inside, one smaller than the other, and the innermost wooden gate. From both sides of the main entrance to the altar at the bottom of the main hall, there are two rows (7 in each row) of ***14 columns, forming a three-corridor style. The middle hall is a stacked compound square colonnade, which supports the top of large and small semi-circular coupons.
