Brief introduction of sanshan street
Sanshan Street is located at the intersection of Zhonghua Road and Jiankang Road in Qinhuai District, Nanjing. It is a street with a long history, named after its proximity to Sanshanmen (Shuiximen). The name of Sanshan Street comes from a legend. According to legend, after Zhu Yuanzhang made Nanjing his capital in the early Ming Dynasty, three nameless hills surrounded the south of the city when he was building the Ming wall of Nanjing. These three mountains just blocked the road from the north to the south gate-Jubaomen (now Zhonghua Gate). Yanzi Lake, just east of the city, is building Miyagi, so these three mountains were filled into Yanzi Lake. After the three mountains were leveled, a street was built at the foot of the mountain, named Sanshan Street.
