Kashgar is the western gate of the motherland. Although it is a city in the southern corner of Xinjiang, Kashgar borders five countries including India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan.

Kashgar has a long history and can be said to be the birthplace of the Uyghur nationality, with a strong Uyghur customs.
