From April to October every year in Peng'an, you can watch more than a hundred buffaloes crossing the Jialing River to graze on the islands at sunrise and then swimming back to the small islands at sunset. The local people call it "a hundred buffaloes crossing the river".

The opening ceremonies of Nanchong City's 8th Rural Culture Tourism Festival and Peng'an County's 7th Jialing River Cattle Festival were held in Youfanggou Village, Xiangru Town.

Youfanggou Village is surrounded by mountains and rivers and has a tradition of raising cattle.

More than 20 years ago, the Mahui Hydropower Station was completed and put into operation, causing the water level of the Jialing River to rise, forming two huge islands in the river. The lush green grass on the islands attracted nearby buffaloes to graze. Over time, the cattle formed a habit of walking across the river to the islands every morning.
