Moxi Ancient Town is located in Moxi Town, Luding County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is located in the south of Luding County, Garze Prefecture, to the east of the Gongga Mountain Scenic Area, and is the entrance to the Hailuogou Glacier Forest Park. The ancient town of Moxi is 70 kilometers away from Kangding. Now a highway from Moxi to Kangding has been built. The ancient town is where the Han, Yi and Tibetan ethnic groups live.
Moxi means "treasure land" in the ancient Qiang language. In ancient times, the ancient town of Moxi was called Moximian. Moxi on the Gangling Ancient Road is a prosperous and important town on the Sichuan-Tibet Passage and an important town on the Tea-Horse Ancient Road.
Moxi Ancient Town has a relatively complete old town and ancient district, which is a complex of ancient residential buildings from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The attractions that cannot be missed are the Catholic Church, which is a Gothic style built by French missionaries. The church, the blend of Chinese and Western culture gives the ancient town a unique scenery.
As early as 1935, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and others temporarily stayed at the Catholic Church in Moxi Town, where they held the famous Moxi Conference on the Long March and decided that the troops would pass through Luding. Bridge, there are now cultural relics and historic sites such as Mao Zedong's former residence and Catholic church built locally, which are very well preserved.

The delicacies of Moxi Ancient Town include gastrodia knuckle, cordyceps duck, fritillary, wild vegetables, pickled cabbage and bacon and other relatively original foods. The buildings and lives of the residents here are also very primitive and simple.
Houses in Moxi Ancient Town are generally divided into two floors. Food and other sundries are piled on the upper floor. Chopped firewood is piled on the corridor. The house is made of stones and the beams are made of wood. Empty but not penetrating, surrounded but not dead.
In addition to the Catholic Church and Mao Zedong’s former residence, Moxi Ancient Town also has Luding Bridge. Luding Bridge is a national key cultural relic protection unit with a history of more than 300 years. The inscription was written by Kangxi himself, and it is the choke point of transportation between Sichuan and Tibet.
