Campus catering at the University of Edinburgh, UK

Although the University of Edinburgh is one of the six oldest and most famous universities in the UK, the food on campus is really lacking.

Almost only Caf?, although Caf? is different from Caf?, it still makes people feel boring.

Even so, on-campus dining is still our first choice when faced with heavy schoolwork. The students should reluctantly come and see what is there.

The University of Edinburgh has three main campuses: George Square, King's Building and Pollock Building. Let’s talk about them in order from oldest to newest.

George Square

This is the heart of the Old College, home to the Institute of Law and European Studies. There are 4 Cafés in this area. There is one location that is relatively infrequent, so I won’t list it for now. Let’s take a look at the remaining three:

Library Café

See As you can guess from the name, this is a small cafe inside the library.

Occupying the favorable terrain of the library, which is connected in all directions, naturally the business is very good.

The interior decoration is also very modern. Although the food is conventional soup, baked potatoes, donuts, salads, toast, Danish pastries, waffles, etc., it is also good to be fresh and hot.

However, these are not the most popular features among the students. The free tablets are everyone’s favorite.

However, because of this, there will be many people here even during meal times. After all, besides eating, this is also a good place for study and discussion.

The Exchange Café?

This is the base camp for business school students, located on the first floor of the business school, Buccleuch Place.

Having said that, I have to add that many cafés on campus are only open to teachers and students. However, The Exchange Café located in the business school obviously will not do such an uneconomical thing. Things of the Head, therefore, are open to the public and are affordable, with single items generally not exceeding £2, and can also be taken away.

Absorb

This is a small cafe that is only open to teachers and students, and is closed on weekends. But because its audience is smaller, it provides better services? There are no less than 50 desktop computers for everyone to use.

Well, you can surf the Internet while eating without delaying anything, and you generally don’t have to worry about not being able to grab something. Located in Appleton Tower, the sandwiches and baguettes are said to be good.

Kings Building

Because it is the location of the School of Natural Sciences and Engineering, it can be said that there are a lot of nerds gathered here.

Although it is not together with the main campus and is located in the south of the city, the learning and living facilities here are complete and no worse than the main campus. The food is much more than that of George Square.

There are places similar to food courts, as well as scattered shops scattered in various teaching buildings and libraries.

The relatively well-known Up Stairs Café is located on the 7th floor of the Michael Swann Building. Everyone has their own opinions on how it tastes. However, it is not only about delicious food, but also the most popular one at the moment: "healthy".

You know, this place has won the Healthy Living Award?! The ingredients and combinations are absolutely guaranteed.

In addition, KB Café in the library, the coffee shop on the first floor of Darwin, The Eng Inn in the Hudson Beare building and The Spot on the first floor of the Kings Buildings Center are all pretty good, although It’s not as famous as Up Stairs Café?

The food court, King's Building House, is located in the center of the campus because it is home to a variety of fast food restaurants, such as Grab & Go and Wraps & Rolls selling sandwiches, and The, which sells pizza, pasta and baked potatoes. Grange is the most popular place for students to eat.

If you want to have a buffet, there is also The Curle Room here, but the business seems to be good, so it is recommended to make a reservation in advance.

Pollock Halls

Located on Holyrood Park Road, it is a dormitory area, and it is a dormitory area with meals, so the canteen must be standard.

Pollock Halls residential catering: It can accommodate up to 650 students at the same time. Breakfast is served from Monday to Friday, lunch is served on weekends, and dinner is served every day.

There are quite a lot of types of dishes, and it can basically be regarded as a conscience restaurant. What is more unique is that there are occasional theme nights, and everyone has the opportunity to taste delicious food from all over the world. However, it is not I can't guarantee it's authentic.

The cafeteria is located on the first floor of the John McIntyre Conference Center and is easy to find.

Next to the Pollock Halls cafeteria, there is a bar @ JMCC that serves lunch (sounds a bit strange, doesn’t it, I think so too).

In addition, there is free WIFI and a fantastic pool table for everyone to have fun and relax. (To be honest, I haven’t been here yet, I just heard about it.)

About how to save money by paying. Most of the students who have just arrived are unfamiliar with the place and will choose to pay in cash. This is of course no problem as all restaurants accept cash.

However, if we can save some money, why not do it?

This is also a benefit given by the school to the students. Almost all restaurants on campus can swipe students Cards, and students who swipe their cards can get at least a 10% discount. Some can even get free gifts if you swipe them enough times. Usually the gifts are very affordable things, such as a sandwich and a big cup of coffee.

So get moving, go and recharge your student card as soon as you settle down at school. After all, you will be hungry if you don’t eat a meal! You can recharge on the school website or at the Smart Service points on campus. The minimum recharge at one time is £5,
