Tai Po is a street town with ancient history facing Tolo Harbour.
Villages began to form in the Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty (1368~1644 AD), there was an old Taipo Market (Xi means market) on the north side of the current Lincun River. Now the old Taipo Market has been demolished and turned into residential land.
Today's Tai Po can be divided into the following three areas: Tai Po Industrial Village, formed by land reclamation after the war, is an industrial area; in the west are residential areas such as Yuancun and Tai Po Center, which are modern communities with many high-rise apartments.
There are many high-end residences with swimming pools in the center; there is also the center of Dabu Street Town and the commercial area of ??Dabu District.
Before World War II, this area was a half-agriculture and half-fishery market. Its nature has not changed now. At the end of the store, there is a market selling fish and vegetables. It is full of vitality and interesting to browse.
In addition, there is a small railway museum that introduces the history of the Kowloon-Canton Railway. It is good to take a look during your walk.
