What are some local delicacies and snacks?
I just went to Chengdu in early July this year and spent two days there. I basically visited the city’s scenic spots and didn’t go too far.
For serious foodies, visiting scenic spots is only a small part of travel, and eating delicious food is the main thing. I have tasted Chengdu’s more unique food, so I can still answer the question.
Let’s talk about accommodation first. It mainly depends on what type of accommodation you like. If you want to stay in a hotel, I suggest you stay near Jinli and Wuhou Temple. Jinli is quite nice at night and there are plenty of snacks. You can still find them when you are tired from shopping.
There is a teahouse to drink tea and watch Face Changing and Sichuan Opera, and Jinli is next to Wuhou Temple, so it is more convenient to live nearby.
If you want to stay in a B&B, I recommend staying near Kuanzhai Alley. There are several good B&B hotels there, and Kuanzhai Alley is still very lively at night. Living nearby allows you to play and rest without delay. It is a good choice.
As I said just now, foodies pay the most attention to food. Most of the food in Chengdu is spicy, so if you can’t eat spicy food, you won’t be able to taste the authentic Chengdu food. This is also a good way to travel to Chengdu.
It’s a pity, after all, if you want to understand a city, you start by understanding its food. Let’s share with you some Chengdu food that you shouldn’t miss.
1. Compared with Chongqing hot pot, I still think Chengdu hot pot is more authentic.
Walking on the streets of Chengdu, the smell of hot pot is everywhere. Hot pot restaurants are located one after another, which fully reflects Chengdu people’s love for hot pot.
Many foreign friends are not used to eating Chengdu hot pot. The mild spiciness of Chengdu hot pot has made many friends call it spicy to death. The normal spiciness and abnormal spiciness are even more daunting, but this kind of spiciness is exactly what Chengdu hot pot is.
Characteristics, and only this kind of spiciness can satisfy you and leave a deep impression on you.
2. Sichuan-style bacon. There are many shops selling bacon on the streets of Chengdu. There are many kinds of bacon in them, ranging from large to small. I heard that many people who travel to Chengdu like to take a few kilograms of bacon back to their relatives and friends when they go back.
Make a gift.
Sichuan bacon is relatively famous across the country. The most famous bacon in Chengdu is undoubtedly Qingcheng Mountain bacon, but now many bacon are branded as Qingcheng Mountain, so it is really not easy to eat authentic Qingcheng Mountain bacon.
3. Chengdu Chuanchuan Among the many Chengdu delicacies, Chuanchuan Xiang definitely has its place. Chuanchuan Xiang is one of the most representative Chengdu delicacies.
Everyone who has lived in Chengdu has a special feeling for Chuan Chuan Xiang. The Chuan Chuan Xiang shops one after another on the streets of Chengdu fully illustrate this problem.
A pot of steaming red oil and handfuls of bamboo sticks form a unique scenery in Chengdu.

Old Chengdu people will feel as if something is missing if they don't eat Long Chaoshou for several days.
Chengdu's Long Chao Shou has thin skin, tender filling and fresh soup. It is tender and smooth in your mouth, fragrant and delicious, very delicious!
5. Dandan noodles Dandan noodles are one of the most famous snacks in Chengdu. When this snack first appeared, vendors carried it on their shoulders and sold it along the street, so it was called Dandan noodles.
The noodles of Dan Dan Noodles are chewy and refreshing. There are many types of soups, including vegetarian soup and meat soup. The taste is unique. Many Chengdu people eat Dan Dan Noodles as a breakfast.
6. Rabbit head Rabbit head is a delicacy in Chengdu, and the rabbit head in Shuangliu County is the most delicious.
Some people joke that no rabbit can leave Chengdu alive, and every rabbit head has entered the stomach of Chengdu people. This is an indisputable fact.
Chengdu people like to eat rabbit heads very much. They usually like to eat rabbit heads as a snack. It is really delicious to drink and eat this delicious food at the same time!
When visiting Chengdu, if you don’t go out of the city, you can visit Wuhou Temple, Jinli, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Kuanzhai Alley, or go to the Panda Base farther away.
Chengdu people are very enthusiastic. In the past few days in Chengdu, whenever I couldn't find a place to consult the Chengdu people next to me, every Chengdu person patiently explained to me.
The food in Chengdu is also very delicious, and there are so many varieties. I have only listed 6 kinds of snacks. You are welcome to leave a message to add other snacks.
