The meat of king cobra has the functions of dredging meridians, expelling wind and removing dampness, and is delicious, which is favored by gourmets. Moreover, the skin of king cobra can be used for tanning and making advanced handicrafts. Therefore, it is one of the important economic snakes in China. Because king cobra is delicious in meat, snake skin can be made into handicrafts, and snake venom and snake gall have extremely high medicinal value, all king cobras found in the wild are killed, and if they are not protected in time, they may become extinct. It has been listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. At present, more than 4 million individuals are almost extinct. Like cobra, this species is one of the protected objects listed by CITES, but this is just a dead letter in many countries. Because of its special habitat and food, the population is far more fragile than cobra. As the largest poisonous snake in the world, King cobra should be respected and protected by human beings.
