Xiashan Village in Kaihua County builds a tourism brand: a play, a pen, and a pig as intangible cultural heritage!

One Opera refers to the regular performance of Kaihua County’s intangible cultural heritage camped in Anzhai, Xiashan. This opera complements the ancient folk houses in Xiashan and attracts tourists from all over the world; one pen refers to China’s first rural-based opera approved by the civil affairs department.

The premiere of the "Quzhou Ritual Heritage and Enlightenment" intangible cultural heritage regular performance, co-sponsored by the Kaihua County Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau and the Kaihua County Magin Town People's Government, kicked off here.

As an important folk cultural symbol of our county, the Incense Grass Dragon has been selected into the national intangible cultural heritage protection list.

At the event, the intangible cultural heritage performances "Ma Jin Carrying the Lantern", "Lion and Elephant Lantern Dance" and "Bamboo Horse on Stilts" selected by Ma Jin Town amazed the audience.

Among them, the "Stilts and Bamboo Horses" in Xiashan Village, Majin Town is impressive. The performers need to step on 1-meter-high stilts, wear five-color bamboo horses, and wear opera costumes to perform folk dances.

"A pen": Xiashan Rural Revitalization Art Museum Kaihua Xiashan, a thousand-year-old village, gave birth to the country's first rural revitalization art museum, which was grandly opened on June 30, 2020.
