In 1984, as one of the time-honored brands, Zhengyanglou reopened in Qianmen West Polishing Factory.
The newly renovated Zhengyang Building has three floors, continuing the pattern of the day and night canteen at Qianmen. The first floor sells fast food, the second floor sells cooking, and the third floor is used for offices.
Due to its special geographical location in Qianmen and large customer flow, it is still the most popular fast food.
As a result, the reform of half fast food and half cooking on the first floor could no longer continue after two years, and it was changed to all fast food.
In 1992, Zheng Shuifu took over Zhengyanglou Restaurant and renovated it.
The first floor was built into the Daqianmen Food City, imitating the Western fast food that has recently entered China but has gained a lot of momentum. There are red and gray fiberglass fixed tables and chairs. The hot stainless steel dining table underneath can hold more than 20 kinds of dishes.
At that time, this new method of operating Chinese fast food was definitely unique in Beijing. In Zheng Shuifu's words, it "was the first of its kind in Chinese fast food."
At that time, Zhengyanglou launched the slogan of "creating a first-class Chinese-style fast food restaurant" and called it Banyang Fast Food.
The second floor sells Zhengyanglou's traditional dishes. In 1992 and 1999, the crab feast and mutton-shabu-shabu were restored respectively, and new dishes were developed.
In 2000, Zheng Shuifu opened an independent Zhengyanglou store at the South Gate of the Temple of Heaven.
With the renovation of the Qianmen area, the Zhengyanglou restaurant located in the West Polishing Factory was closed again. Today, only Lao Zheng's Zhengyanglou independent store remains.
