Among many artists with decorative art style, foujita, a Japanese painter, has a striking painting style. Foujita came to Paris in 1913 and became an important member of "Paris School of Painting". He engaged in modern art activities together with Mogliani, Sudin, Picasso and others. In the French painting circle at that time, foujita showed his unique characteristics with his style of blending eastern and western arts. While he was engaged in painting, he designed a large number of advertisements, posters and graphic design works. He also designed murals for the University of Paris in the style of Art Deco. Foujita's activities in Paris in 193s had a great influence on the Art Deco Movement. When the Second World War broke out, foujita returned to Japan, and participated in the activities of "jihad art" to promote Japanese militarism, and created many paintings praising the war of aggression. After the end of World War II, foujita came to France again in 1949 and obtained French nationality in 1955. In his later years, he made many murals with religious themes for churches in France. Foujita is one of the few oriental artists who have succeeded in the west.
